Today we’ve released the MedImage Server 2.0 software, but the entire MedImage suite of products has been undergoing a gradual transition to a 2nd generation line of products.

• The MedImage Server itself has reached 2.0.
• Our apps have gone ‘app-store free‘, and are now served from our website as ‘progressive web apps’
• With the help of our sister organisation, the AtomJump Foundation, we have introduced a ‘messaging style’ app as an alternative to the dedicated photo app
• Our hosted server hardware is now self-contained. While we use NZ mains power grid suppliers and 100% renewable-energy for our server farm’s primary power source, we also have our own, backup, solar panels and battery storage that can maintain service independently from the main grid, should there be a major outage.
• The primary add-on packages (EHR Connector and Resizer) have new editions that are compatible with the MedImage Server 2.0.
• For developers: the MedImage Server 2.0 on Windows has a refreshed and modern NodeJS version underpinning it (14.17.1 rather than 4.2.6), which should provide stability for the coming years.
